2 Dead After Gunman Opens Fire Inside Tennessee Grocery Store

A gunman opened hearth inside of a grocery keep in the vicinity of Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday afternoon, injuring various folks before killing himself, police reported.

Collierville Law enforcement Chief Dale Lane explained to reporters there had been 13 victims, which includes just one bystander who was killed. A dozen folks had been transported to area hospitals, some with “very serious” injuries, Lane reported. 

The capturing sparked a significant law enforcement existence immediately after the first 911 contact arrived in at 1:30 p.m. ET.

“We identified folks hiding in freezers, and in locked places of work,” Lane said, his voice cracking. “I hate that we experienced to do that here.”

The law enforcement chief frequently pointed to the mass shooting disaster gripping the country, declaring, “It’s like each individual other neighborhood in the country. It’s horrific. We dislike that it happened.”

It was not quickly apparent what variety of gun the shooter utilised, but Lane observed the bravery of his officers who entered the shop recognizing that “many shooters” generally have long rifles.
