Willits Center for the Arts May Exhibition

The Willits Center for the Arts is showing Sandy Strong, watercolors and photographs, and Robert Rhoades’ paper constructions through May 23. The Willits Photography Club is also showcasing new work in its upstairs gallery. The gallery is located at 71 E. Mendocino Spring Poetry Celebration

The Mendocino Spring Poetry Celebration’s 46th Anniversary and 16th consecutive revival will take place on KZYX & Z, Mendocino County’s public broadcaster, starting Sunday June 6th. The Mendocino Art Center will continue its online courses in May

Partners Gallery reopened in the heart of Mendocino in June

Partner artists will reopen their gallery in the historic Mendocino Beacon Building on Ukiah Street 45062 in the heart of Mendocino. After 10 years at the Glendeven Inn in Little River, another 10 years on Franklin Street in Fort Bragg, and a year only online during COVID-19, gallery artists are excited to usher in a new era in Mendocino. They are working on the preparation of the room and look forward to opening it sometime in June. In the meantime, they will continue their Connected exhibition online until June at www.partnersgallery.com/online-exhibits.

“Postcards from Mecca” exhibition at the Grace Hudson Museum

The fascinating exhibition “Postcards from Mecca” at the Grace Hudson Museum runs until Sunday, August 22nd. The exhibition examines the friendship of two women who explored and experienced adventures in the southern California desert from the late 1910s to the early 30s. This traveling exhibition from Exhibit Envoy is complemented by a selection of AO Carpenter pictures from the collections of the Grace Hudson Museum. A talented professional photographer, AO traveled through Mendocino County in the mid to late 19th century, documenting the landscapes, industries, and people in the area. Welcome back to physical, personal exhibits at Grace Hudson. They are now open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Closed on Monday and Tuesday. Up Close and Classical is a podcast series that takes a close look at the lives of classical composers and musicians. Each episode focuses on a composer, theme, or collection of works recently performed by Symphony of the Redwoods and the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra.
