With the weather hindering the midway activities for most of the day the weather cleared up enough for the Huron Community Fair to still hold it’s grandstand event.
At 3:30 p.m. the Huron Community Fair Facebook page posted that the event would still run rain or shine with lighting being the deciding factor if they would cancel.
With the storm going on for most of the afternoon, a handful of people inquired on the post with the fair reassuring that the event would still happen. The rain had let up around an hour before the first race took place.
The grandstand will host the Redneck Truck Race on Friday Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. and the TTIP Tractor Pull at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The Midway will open at 3 p.m. Friday and noon on Saturday.
