Southern Arkansas University’s annual Celebration of Lights on Thursday will offer you plenty of vacation cheer with train rides, festive food items, photos with Santa, and a distinctive presentation of “The Polar Categorical.”

Routines in the Reynolds Middle start out at 3 p.m. with the first displaying of “The Polar Express” in Basis Hall. Two other displays will get position at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Generation of personalised Christmas ornaments will begin at 3 p.m. and conclude at 7 p.m., also Foundation Hall.

Shots with Santa will be taken no cost of demand to all households in the Reynolds Center from 6-8 p.m.

Practice rides start on the campus mall at 4 p.m. and continue right up until 8 p.m.

Tale Time with Mrs. Claus is held in Magale Library at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Cost-free storybooks will be out there although materials past.

The festivities carry on at Overstreet Hall following the arrival of the Magnolia Xmas Parade, “Songs of the Season,” which runs from 5-6 p.m. The parade concludes in the Reynolds Heart parking whole lot.

Next the parade, the Residence Hall Association will begin the Overstreet Lighting, with SAU President Dr. Trey Berry offering greetings right before the lights of the SAU Holiday Tree. Refreshments will be served, and the SAU Band will conduct medleys. Immediately after parade winners are announced, all are invited to the Reynolds Center to love the festivities.

The yearly holiday break buffet evening meal and Christmas music are from 6-8 p.m. in the Reynolds Middle. Grownup tickets are $9.50 and children’s tickets (5-12) are $4.50. Tickets can be obtained at the doorway. For additional details, contact 870-235-4922.
