Cinderella, a Broadway-style musical is coming to the Jefferson Center this weekend

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) -A youthful girl, a prince and a lost glass slipper…

The fairytale, “Cinderella” is coming to lifetime on phase at the Jefferson Center, as a creation by the Virginia Children’s Theatre this getaway time.

“It’s the typical tale that we all know and love. Exact figures. Exact storyline. Same magic, but it is a Broadway musical variation,” says producing inventive director Brett Roden. “Large dance figures. Massive costumes. Major ensemble singing. It is truly a musical theatre breathtaking.”

Roden suggests this is a person of Virginia Children’s theatres major casts at any time.

It capabilities 3 adult industry experts and 37 neighborhood youth performers from the Roanoke Valley and surrounding places.

That features Franklin County native Anna Locklear.

She has the iconic position of Cinderella, and is aware she has some large glass slippers to fill.

”It’s honestly terrifying, for the reason that there is so substantially magic involved. If you mess up, the children are going to know,” states Locklear.

”I consider of Cinderella. She’s kind and sweet, but she is incredibly sturdy, due to the fact she promotions with the stepsisters and stepmother, and all of that,” states Locklear.

“She’s potent and she’s courageous, but she’s continue to gentle and kind, and which is what I want to display the kids is that you can be strong an be type,” she provides.

“I assume the specific thing about Cinderella is it’s really like. It sits in your coronary heart. It is unique. It’s magical. I usually say our career as theatre artists is to rework our viewers. Make them cry, make them laugh. Make them sense loved and I imagine that Cinderella will present that for them,” claims Roden.
