GFP Real Estate is pleased to announce that CSM Sport and Entertainment, a global integrated marketing and brand experience agency working in the sports and entertainment realm, has signed a three-year lease for 11,940 square feet on the 5th floor at 80 Eighth Ave in Chelsea.

CSM believes that “great experiences in sport and entertainment have the power to inspire and motivate positive change like nothing else.” The company assists governments, brands, non-profits, federations and governing bodies to evolve and engage with the community through the power of sports and entertainment.

Known as one of the world’s leading agencies, CSM has over 25 locations worldwide, including offices in London, Paris, Hong Kong and Dubai, and will use its new space in New York for general and administrative offices. CSM boasts more than 1,000 employees worldwide and offers a full range of services, from digital and data to consulting and commercial strategy.

Sean Hoffman of Savills represented the tenant, CSM Sport and Entertainment, in the transaction; Matthew Mandell of GFP Real Estate represented the landlord, GFP Real Estate.

“80 Eighth Ave. has long-attracted tech and creative firms looking for offices with an industrial look and feel, that want to be near other tech giants like Google and Facebook.  It’s the perfect location for CSM to set up its first offices in the city,” said Mandell. “We are pleased to accommodate this fast-growing agency.”

Built in 1929 and standing 282 feet tall, 80 Eighth Ave. is most well-known as the Bankers Trust Company Building, which has occupied the building for over 70 years. This 20-story building, designed by the esteemed architect, William Whitehall, in a neo-gothic style, offers 185,000 square feet of commercial space and a newly renovated lobby that showcases its authentic architectural elements and modernizes its appeal to today’s tenants.

Located at the crossroads of Chelsea, the Meatpacking District and the West Village, 80 Eighth Ave., is just a block away from Google’s New York Headquarters, Chelsea Market and Apple W14th. The A, C, E and L trains are situated directly behind the building, while the 1, 2, and 3 trains are one block away, providing an easy commute to and from the building.
