David Ellefson broke up with Megadeth after making allegations against him.

The 56-year-old musician has deeply denied claims he groomed a girl online after explicit screenshots and video material surfaced online earlier this month.

Dave Mustaine and co have since issued a statement confirming his exit from the thrash metal group, in which they also revealed that the band already had a “strained relationship” with Ellefson.

The rockers of ‘Sweating Bullets’ assured fans that their new album was not affected.

Mustaine said in a statement on the band’s social media pages: “We are informing our fans that David Ellefson is no longer playing with Megadeth and that we are officially parting with him. We are not making this decision lightly.”

“While we don’t know every detail of what happened with an already strained relationship, what has already been revealed is enough to make it impossible to work together in the future.

“We look forward to seeing our fans on the streets this summer and we can’t wait to share our brand new music with the world. It’s almost done.”

Megadeth – also consisting of Kiko Loureiro and Dirk Verbeuren – previously told fans that they were aware of the allegations against Ellefson.

They said, “In terms of creativity and business, we all know each other.

“However, there are clearly aspects of David’s personal life that he has kept to himself. As this situation develops, it is important that all voices are heard clearly and respectfully. We look forward to the truth coming to light.”

Ellefson had addressed the allegations against him in his own statement, vehemently denying that he allegedly cared for an underage girl, and thanked the nameless woman for reporting that their interactions were “consensual” and she was at that point was not a minor.

He said, “Unless it’s something I’m proud of, these have been private adult interactions that have been taken out of context and manipulated to do maximum damage to my reputation, career, and family.

“The other party involved made a statement which you can see below. I thank them for this and hope this clarifies that the situation was not at all as it was presented.”

She wrote: “Yes, these video calls took place, but I was the one who initiated them and I was never a minor, I was always an approving adult. Nothing inappropriateness has happened before. It was all consensual, I am not the victim and I wasn’t cared for in the slightest as I was the one who initiated it.

“In the end, everything was consensual and everything was online. I don’t know how it got to this point, but a lot of information is left out by the people who are deliberately trying to harm it. I would ask anyone to share these personal private videos.” or misinformation about it, to please stop. “

Ellefson formed Megadeth in 1983 with Mustaine, on hiatus between 2002 and 2004, but the bassist didn’t rejoin until 2010, five years after his lawsuit against the rest of the band over a licensing dispute was dismissed.
