Disney has presented lovers a first glance at its approaching musical collection “Tiana,” which carries on the legacy of its very first Black princess.

The company’s streaming services, Disney+, shared strategy art for the new animated collection in a Twitter publish on Friday. It will be composed and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Stella Meghie and will observe Tiana, who was 1st released to viewers in the 2009 animated movie “The Princess and the Frog,” as a “newly crowned Princess of Maldonia on a new experience,” Disney declared.

“Tiana” will premiere on Disney+ in 2023.

Meghie, who directed 2020’s “The Photograph,” shared her exhilaration on Twitter.

“Thank you to Walt Disney Animation Studios for entrusting me to carry on Tiana’s tale. Extend the legacy of ‘Princess and the Frog,’” she wrote Friday. “Writing and directing at @disneyanimation was a aspiration prior to I even understood it was possible.”

Anika Noni Rose, who voiced Tiana in “The Princess and the Frog,” is reprising her part in the approaching collection.
