WHAT Happened
1. From Wednesday by Saturday there was a whole lot of written content circulating which implied fraud in the election, at all over 10% of all civic material and 1-2% of all US VPVs. There was also a fringe of incitement to violence.
2. There were being dozens of staff checking this, and FB introduced ~15 measures prior to the election, and a different ~15 in the days later on. Most of the actions made existings procedures much more aggressive: e.g. by lowering thresholds, by creating penalties far more significant, or growing eligibility for existing actions. Some steps were being qualitative: reclassifying specific forms of content material as violating, which experienced not been right before.
3. I would guess these actions diminished prevalence of violating content material by at the very least 2X. On the other hand they experienced collateral hurt (taking away and demoting non-violating articles), and the episode brought on obvious resentment by Republican Fb people who sense they are getting unfairly targeted.
