The Fort Bend County Fair is still a couple of months away but the entertainment lineup has been set and plans for the annual event have been made.
Beginning in October 1933, the fair is celebrating its 86th annual event this year.
The county fair is scheduled to open the gates for a sneak peak on Thursday, Sept. 22; open for everyone on Friday, Sept. 23; and run daily through Sunday, Oct. 2. A season pass is $40. Tickets are available for the fair at www.fortbendcountyfair.com. Tickets include admission to the rodeo and concerts but not carnival rides.
Highlighting the entertainment lineup is the Bellamy Brothers on Sunday, Oct. 2. Howard and David Bellamy have released more than 50 albums in their career spanning nearly 50 years. They have recorded 10 number one singles, 25 top 10 and more than 50 hits overall on the country charts. They are perhaps best known for their crossover hit “Let Your Love Flow,” released in 1976.
On Saturday, Oct. 1, Sammy Kershaw will take the stage. Including his debut album “Don’t Go Near the Water” in 1991, Kershaw has released 16 albums with more than 25 top 40 hits on the county charts.
Shenandoah hits the stage on Friday, Sept. 30. The Alabama-based band put five singles at the top of the top 40 charts.

• Secretto on Sunday, Sept. 25.
• Carson Jeffrey on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Parade
According to organizers, the 2022 Fort Bend County Fair Parade will officially kick off the 86th Annual Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23. The parade is expected to present nearly 200 entries who wind their way from the Historic Court House in Richmond and proceed west down Highway 90-A to Jennetta Street in Rosenberg. The theme for this year is “Generations of Champions.”

The Fort Bend County Fair is scheduled to be open:
• 10 a.m.-midnight, Friday, Sept. 23.
• 10 a.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.
• Noon-midnight Sunday, Sept. 25.
• 5-11 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, Sept. 26-28.
• 5 p.m.-midnight Thursday-Friday, Sept. 29-30.
• 10 a.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.
• Noon-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2.
Livestock auction
The top 188 livestock projects presented by 4-H and FFA students in Fort Bend County will take part in the Junior Livestock Auction starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29. For more information go to https://tinyurl.com/yt9z4mvd.
Admission
A season pass for the fair is $40. Otherwise, tickets are $15 for adults or $12 plus a $2 fee if purchased online; children 6-11 years old are $5; and children less than 5 years old are free.
Free dates for kindergarten through 12-grade students are Friday, Sept. 23, and Sunday, Oct. 2. Sept. 23 is also Military Appreciation Day with free admission for active duty or veterans with their immediate family admitted free.
