The Murphy Arts District in El Dorado has announced its line-up for MAD Movie Monday 2021, which is scheduled to run from June 7th to August 9th.

The event is sponsored by the South Arkansas Medical Center and is free to the public. The films begin at sunset in the MAD Amphitheater.

“The South Arkansas Medical Center is proud to sponsor MAD Movie Mondays for the fourth consecutive year,” said Scott Street, CEO of the South Arkansas Medical Center. “We’re excited to give back to our community by helping families enjoy a safe and fun environment this summer.”

On Monday evening, June 14th, there will be a special show at which the Arkansas Cinema Society (ACS) will show “Raya and the Last Dragon,” written by Qui Nguyen, a native of El Dorado. Before the film, a question and answer session with Alexander Jeffrey, director of the N Doryen and El Dorado Film Festival, will be broadcast that evening.

ACS CEO Kathryn Tucker is excited to bring the film to El Dorado.

“We’re excited to bring Raya and the last dragon to El Dorado and the Murphy Arts District,” said Tucker. “Highlighting Arkansas creatives is a big part of what we do. We’re excited to see an Arcane man like Qui Nguyen doing great things and working with Disney on such a fantastic movie. “

All films selected this summer have been rated PG, including the throwback films “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” and “Napoleon Dynamite”. There are concessions for purchase and lawn games before the movie.
