WHEELING, W.VA. – The town of Wheeling starts its summer entertainment tomorrow with the first Waterfront Wednesday concert of the year. Taylor Jo & The Copper Creek Band are expected to take the Heritage Port stage at 7pm. The band will play an energetic mix of country, pop, rock and blues.

On Friday at 9:30 pm, Free Movie Night will show a nice day in the neighborhood with Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers. The film is based on the true story of a real friendship between Rogers and journalist Lloyd Vogel. Vogel is tasked with creating a profile of Rogers, the creator and star of the successful children’s program Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. He dutifully goes to the studio, where his subject is filming his show, and soon he sits down with him and asks him questions. Fred seems to have a different plan, however. The interviewee suddenly becomes the interviewer and starts helping the author sent after him in an unexpected way.

Visit www.wheelingwv.gov/summerevents for the full summer schedule of city sponsored events, which include not only Waterfront and Movie Nights on Wednesdays, but Toe Tappin ‘Tuesday and Toe Tappin’ Tuesday as well.
