MATTOON — More than 26 local community associates, ages six to 60, have been rehearsing as a cast and crew for “The Christmas Gnome,” an authentic Christmas exhibit debuting inside of the Mattoon Practice Depot on the Lone Elm Area phase.

The display is penned, directed and choreographed by Matthew Gerard Burns who is also on the Mattoon Arts Council.

The exhibit requires the viewers to the “North Pole Talent Show” wherever sugar plum fairies and Xmas elves do the job on a creation showcasing their skills and their distinctive personalities on stage and off. A secret character interrupts the motion and interactions leading to performance panic. What will the end result be? Often drama? Or some resolutions and acceptance?

The present operates the to start with two weekends in December, with the opening night scheduled on Thursday, Dec. 2, at an before time than the weekend performances. Doorways open at 6 p.m. for the Lone Elm Room, east doors, principal ground, handicap entrance. The opening evening effectiveness will commence at 6:30 p.m.

The weekend agenda is 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec 5. Then, 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, December 10-11.

Tickets are $10 for each seat. Payment will be taken at the doorway via a check out prepared to “MAC” or money. If paying with credit score card in advance, the tourism and arts business office will choose requests by means of the on the internet seat reservation and speak to the requester to tackle transaction.
