Taylour Paige will star in the reboot of ‘Toxic Avenger’.

The 30-year-old actress was tapped to play the lead female role in a reinterpretation of the 1984 superhero splatter film of the same name.

Macon Blair is on board to produce and direct the new film, with Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, who created the original, for Troma Entertainment.

Peter Dinklage was cast on the male lead in the film, a man who is disfigured when pushed into a container of toxic waste. He transforms into a mutant freak but becomes an outsider hero as he rescues his son, friends, and community from the forces of corruption and greed.

The original film has become a cult classic, spawning three sequels, its own music production, an animated series for children, and a Marvel comic book.

Taylour recently hailed her role on Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, previously starring alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jonathan Majors on White Boy Rick.

In the meantime, Peter will also lead the cast of ‘Cyrano’.

The Game of Thrones star will repeat his stage role as Cyrano de Bergerac in the upcoming musical, in which he will appear alongside Haley Bennett, Brian Tyree Henry, Ben Mendelsohn and Kelvin Harrison Jr.

The story is adapted from Edmond Rostand’s play ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’ from 1897 and is directed by Joe Wright with Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Guy Heeley as producers.

This adaptation was written by Dinklage’s wife, Erica Schmidt, who is an experienced director, writer and stage actress.

Music and lyrics were provided by Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner and Matt Berninger.
