Tempe has begun taking arguments for and against three ballot propositions for a proposed entertainment district that would include an Arizona Coyotes arena.

Beginning today, Jan. 13, through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, individuals or organizations can pay to sponsor arguments to be printed in the publicity pamphlet that gets mailed to registered voters.

Propositions 301, 302 and 303 will be on the city’s May 16 election ballot.

The propositions relate to the legal action the City Council took on Nov. 29 for the proposed Tempe Entertainment District project.

“If voters approve the measures, the development will proceed. If voters reject it, the project does not move forward,” city officials said in a release.

The proposition language that will appear on the ballot is available at tempe.gov/election.

For all the details on submitting the pro and con arguments, including costs, allowed length and more, visit tempe.gov/election and click on the “Submitting Arguments” tab.

Tempe residents who want to vote in the election must be registered to vote by April 17. For more, click here. Voters will receive ballots beginning April 19.
