“Wear the damn mask,” Wallace afterwards instructed his viewers. “Follow the science. If I could say a person issue to all of the individuals out there watching: Fail to remember the politics. This is a general public safety overall health challenge.”

Carlson, on the other hand, ignores the science, dismisses the efficacy of masks and vaccines, and has even urged viewers to “call the police” to report “abuse” when they see young children wearing masks outdoor.

As for criticizing Fox Information much more broadly, Wallace compared his problem to the time he questioned William Casey, then head of Ronald Reagan’s presidential marketing campaign, about a little something controversial. Casey responded: “Why on earth would I reply that question?” Wallace recalled.

Fox News “has utilized me for 18 yrs,” Wallace informed the FT. “They’ve hardly ever interfered with a issue, with a guest I’ve brought on, or a concern I’ve questioned. They have transformed my life. They’ve changed my profession. So to paraphrase William Casey: ‘Why on earth would I share any problems I have about Fox Information with the readers of the Financial Situations?’”
